köpfmaschine is the mechanism of falling in love, a loop without exit, the suspension before the head leaves the body. köpfmaschine is a machine that produces falls, a desiring machine that incessantly produces the destruction of that which it desires. köpfmaschine is a woman dancing in bare feet in the blood of a man she has lusted for and slain...

...that is to say, a new contemporary choreographic work stemming from a collaborative research on Oscar Wilde's Salome and Gilles Deleuze's concept of the machine in his seminal philisophical text Anti-Oedipus. Combining elements of contemporary dance, physical theater, and object theater, the piece works to deconstruct the literary structures and images of Wilde's tragedy in order to reconstruct them in a surprising choreography of bodies and objects trapped in the perpetual mechanism of desire.
